Why is this important?

Climate change already impacts every sector of the economy and every region. The most vulnerable people bear the brunt, but we all experience the consequences. The World Health Organization estimates that air pollution kills almost 9 million people every year, more people than live in New York City. Moreover, the need for an additional $1 trillion per year in clean energy investment to limit global temperature rise to below 2 degrees Celsius and avoid the worst impacts of climate change. Lastly, Connecticut has some of the highest energy costs in the country. NHCS helps to chip away at all of the issues.
